Trainer Jeannette Derammelaere utilizes the German scale of teaching and teaches beginners through advanced F.E.I. levels for all ages. School horses are provided, although students can trailer-in their own horse for lessons if desired.
Most private sessions run 45 minutes, and, for beginners, also teach proper horse grooming and care, tacking up, safe handling procedures, and horsemanship, besides riding techniques. During inclement weather, and/or for the convenience of the student, lessons can also be given at three other North Bay locations with covered riding arenas.
An approved riding helmet is required for all lessons. Helmets and riding boots are available for use at no extra charge.
Rocking J&R Ranch offers all inclusive full board services including feedings three times daily, blanketing and unblanketing, grain feedings, pasture turn-outs, and administering medications if needed. In addition, full (5x/week) or half (3x/week) trainings can also be provided, expediting your horse’s ability to move on to that next championship level.
For our younger horse lovers, nothing is more fun, challenging, and rewarding than spending a full week perfecting one’s riding skills while learning from each other. Day camps are offered two to three times a year, typically in June and August. Each one-week session generally runs about four hours per day, Monday through Friday. Students are asked to bring their own lunch, but dessert is provided and every student receives a summer camp T-shirt.
Sessions are limited to a maximum of eight students to ensure individual attention. Sessions fill up quickly – please call 415.725.2195 for details or to register.
